DAILY PRICE CHANGE RATIO ENTRY SIGNAL

ENTRY SET-UPS
Entry set-ups are likened to walk signals at traffic lights, they are signals that have a specific criterion that allows us to enter the trend with as much safety as possible, most times the signals are correct and we can walk with the crowd safely, but there is still a chance that someone will run a red light and cut us down, hence we use a stoploss point with all our entry set-ups.

One of the challenges for traders is to develop strong entry signal techniques. The one I wish to discuss here is a simple method that appears to identify a tipping point between new, bullish money, entering the stock and replacing stale, bearish money. To date, I have back tested this technique on ILU, NCM, BHP, TOL, BLD, CTX, CVN, NDO and ADY, over different time periods between 2009 -2011 and I have come up with the following 5 rules to help us identify an entry signal.
Rule #1: Find a high volume day. It must be the highest volume day for at least the past 5 consecutive trading days (inclusive) and it must a high volume day occurring on a day when the closing price is higher than the previous day's closing price. In other words, an "up day."
